The Monster

CHAPTER 1- THE RAIN

"Well , we are here.. now what?", asked my impatient colleague. Just like him I  had the same question in mind, we all planned the trip, came here, got stuck in the rains, and were now sitting inside this damn car. Some trip it has come out to be.

"Very well anyone for cards?", came out a enthusiastic voice from the backseat. "Shut up Ankit! I am hungry I told you to get some snacks. And you didn't you thrift!", Rohit almost shouted voicing his opinion. Ankit wasn't known to be very generous in the money department, and we didn't expect him to take money out for the fuel on our trip either, anyhow he said he would but I am pretty sure he won't. Rohit was pretty puffed up by now, his chubby cheeks showed he was the most loved boy in his family.

The road was blocked due to heavy rains, and we were trapped in middle of nowhere from the past two hours, all pleasant things to say were over, no one liners nothing, just silence, which was slowly transforming into frustration.  I looked at the window, the rain drops trickling down, just beaten by the next, following it down sometimes they mixing together to form a bigger drop, the light trying to squeeze between them and trying to enlighten the souls trapped within.

Both my co-passengers, looking outside hoping for the rain to go away.. it was silence, you could hear the rain drops falling like crystals one after the another, one could feel a shiver inside just hearing by hearing it's sound, just as a cool breeze touches the inner soul. Ah!, the rain brings happiness and sorrow in equals to the insignificant beings who roam free on this earth. As I was lost in my thoughts I never realized when they both went to slumber land. I glanced had a look, seeing them so calm,I shut my eyes laying my head on the window, hoping everything would be fine, when I wake up.
